Recap: 4 Day Week for Students

Hello Patriot Family!

Even though last week had 4 days of school for students, they were full days. Monday night there was a good turnout for "Life After High School" (LAHS) night, put on by the Counseling Department. Parents and their seniors learned about applying to college and the trade unions, financial aid, and were able to visit with many representatives from the community, university and military. Some of the feedback was to consider opening this night up for juniors and their parents as well. Wednesday was our Challenge Day and over 50 students and many staff spent the day together in the gym doing activities and engaging in a discussion designed to better appreciate and care for others. At Friday's professional development day we heard from George Curous as a keynote speaker in Hering Auditorium, and while teachers learned about culturally responsive teaching, support staff received training in their areas of expertise. Believe it or not, October visits us on Tuesday of this week...please practice safety as things get darker and icy. Keep reading for this week's events.
