JCPS Updates and Reminders: Virtual Learning and Lunch
Virtual Learning Updates:
- Johnston County Board of Education voted to continue operating under Plan C (Virtual Learning) for the remainder of the first quarter of the school year, which ends October 15th, 2020.
- Secure WiFi is accessible in the parking lot of Princeton Middle/High School. The password for the WiFi is SMARTBUS. Students and families can assess the WiFi from their vehicles in the parking lot.
- WiFi hotspots can be requested if needed (one per family). Please contact our Assistant Principal, Mr. Steve Strickland, to request one.
Lunch Updates:
- Lunch Service Time will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday through Friday. The Summer Feeding program for free lunch for school-aged students to 18 will be continued until December 31st 2020. Lunches can be picked up from Princeton Elementary School
- Parents are still encouraged to go ahead and complete the meal applications information at www.lunchapplication.com for assistance with paying for student meals after the December 31st extension.

Virtual College Exploration September 14th-October 9th
It's Time to apply for the Caterpillar Assembly Pre-Apprenticeship Program
Current Juniors Only
This year and a half long program prepares students for employment at the Caterpillar plant in Clayton, NC and other related industries. Eligible high school Students take classes at JCC and train at Caterpillar during their junior/senior years. Successful graduates earn an Assembly Pre-Apprentice Certificate from JCC, a certificate from the NC Dept. of Labor, and complete approximately 640 hours of Caterpillar on the job training.
Current Juniors Must be eligible to apply for CCP. The deadline to apply is October 2nd (see instructions to apply under Career and College Promise information below in the newsletter.)

Interested in a career with pharmaceutical companies like Grifols and Novo Nordisk in Clayton?
Then you need a BioWork Certificate!
At age 18, with a BioWork Certificate, you are eligible to apply for pharmaceutical industry jobs. PHS and JCC are working together to offer BioWork certification courses that will be taught by our very own Science Teacher Mrs. Sherrie Barber beginning in the Spring semester! Imagine graduating from high school ready to enter this growing industry.
Students must be a junior or senior and have a 2.8 GPA to be eligible to apply for the BioTechnology Career & College Promise courses. You will need to apply to JCC's CCP program (instructions on how to do so are provided below under Career and College Promise information) We must have at least 10 students in order to offer the course.
