From the Principal
We want to thank you for your support of our Moon Pie sale. Overall, we did very well on the sale. BES was able to profit $4700 from the sale. The money raised will be used to support students and teachers in the classroom.
BES and the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department invite you to participate in the Catoosa County Toy Drive. Students may bring in a new and unwrapped toy to donate to a Catoosa County child in need. Toys will be accepted until Tuesday, December 19.
This is the time of the year when the weather becomes an issue. I think most of you have signed up for text alerts, but if you haven't, please sign up. All closings and delays will be sent through the text alert. If you haven't signed up, you can sign up by texting "Y" or "Yes" to 67587. Speaking of weather, I know it's cold outside (our building is warm), please help our morning drop off by dropping off your child along the sidewalk instead of waiting until you arrive at the front door. We try to keep our line moving to get you back to the main road and to work as quickly as possible.
This is the time of the year where we collect a large number of coats and jackets with no identification. Writing your child's name in their jacket, coats, and hats will help us get those items back to the rightful owners. Any unclaimed items are donated to charity.
If you have not signed up for Parent Portal, contact Mrs. Chasity Purcell at the county office a 706-935-0637 and she will help you get setup. Through Parent Portal, you are able to keep track of your child's grades, attendance, and cafeteria balance. This is a great way to keep track of your child's daily progress.
Our homeroom Christmas parties will be Monday, December 18 at 9:30 am. Parents are welcome to join us for class parties. Individual teachers will send out information to their classroom parents. We will allow students to check out after the parties.
We will start Christmas vacation on Wednesday, December 20 and students will return on Monday, January 8th. January will start our second semester and third nine weeks. Dr. Smith and I, along with the entire Battlefield staff, would like to wish you a wonderful and peaceful holiday.
We Are Battlefield.
