Yearbook Purchase Deadline

Purchase your yearbook today! Final deadline to purchase will be May 3.

Please note the yearbook for this year will be distributed in the Fall of 2021.

Parents can buy through Powerschool's payment portal, MySchoolBucks (students won't see this option on their account). If you need help syncing your Powerschool account and getting this set up for the first time, please follow these directions:

Once your MSB is linked, log in through Powerschool, find "My School Bucks," click the "Go to MSB" button to get to the full site, and you can purchase a yearbook under the "School Stores" button.

***Important Update***

MSB let us know today that when a parent creates and syncs their account from PowerSchool to MSB (first time only) they have to wait 24 hours before they can see and make store purchases (example Yearbooks). This explains why parents are not able to see yearbooks in the store once they created their account.

Staff will be at each entrance door and will open the doors for students to enter at 7:50 a.m. each day.

Drop Off / Pick Up Information

Thank you for your patience as we navigate having 5th - 8th grade students back at WMS and the new expectations for drop off and pick up.

PLEASE pull up as far as possible in the loop. This will allow more students being dropped off or picked up at one time. It may take a few more steps for your child, but it helps keep the line of cars behind you moving!

Do not park in any of the parking stalls for drop off or pick up. We want to keep your student as safe as possible and keep the flow of traffic moving efficiently.

PowerSchool Access Codes

If you have not received your Access Codes for PowerSchool Parent Portal please CLICK HERE to fill out a google form. An email will be sent to you with access information within 2 business days of your request.

Treats for Celebrations

Just a gentle reminder to parents: if you are planning to provide treats to be handed out in class for a special celebration, such as a birthday, they need to be individually sealed/wrapped. An example would be Rice Crispy Treats that were factory sealed.

Her is another GREAT option for you as well:

In addition to providing breakfast and lunch, did you know USD 231 Nutrition Services also cater birthday treats directly to the classrooms? Hassle-free, safe and affordable options to celebrate your student’s special day.

Please allow one-week notice for events.

Mask Guidelines

Please see the information below concerning mask guidelines at WMS. Following these guidelines each day will help not only protect your son or daughter but other students and staff members as well.

  • Surgical masks or cloth face coverings made with two layers of fabric.
  • Cloth masks should be washed after you wear them in hot water with detergent. Bleach is not necessary to kill the virus on cloth masks.
  • Make sure masks fit securely over your nose and mouth.
  • Masks with valves in them are not recommended, because the valves allow all of the mask wearer's exhalation to exit through the valve.

If your child does not have a mask with two layers of fabric, we have extra surgical masks to give to individual students as needed.

Inclement Weather Days

Earlier this week the district emailed information to parents regarding the plan for inclement weather. Please take a minute to review the document and be familiar with the schedule changes when we move to a Flexible Instruction Day and the buildings are closed.

Please view this document to learn more about our inclement weather protocols:

Middle School – Inclement Weather Days Protocol

When the chance for severe or inclement weather looms, we will only post the cancellation of school, athletic events, and other activities.

If school is canceled or a Flexible Learning Day is called due to inclement weather, the information will be available in the following formats:

  • Posted on our website found HERE.

  • Posted to social media

  • Local television stations (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC)* Please know we are at the mercy of these stations as to whether or not they relay the information. There have been instances of when the district has provided information and the news station did not get it posted.

  • Thrillshare App

Reminder From Nutrition Services

Just a reminder... Although school meals are free for the 2020-2021 school year, students are still welcome to bring a lunch from home as they desire. Please note that although these students will still be permitted to purchase milk or juice ($0.55 each) to accompany their lunch from home, these individual items are not covered by the program. Only complete meals are available for free. Weekly balance reminders are sent to families whose students' account balances fall below zero due to these types of purchases.

Snap a Pic and Share It!
