The WJHS Panther Weekly Update
November 13th. 2020
Hello Panther Community
Students will be FULL REMOTE LEARNING until the week of 1/19/21. As shared today by Superintendent Kevin Carey, students will follow their REMOTE schedule on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays, and (at WJHS) follow their WIN-sday schedule on Wednesday.
Attached below are the community and WJHS-specific schedule/calendar.
iBoss - Some parents have asked me what iBoss is so I wanted to address that here.
iBoss automatically filters and monitors student CUSD 201 devices "ensuring students, teachers and staff always have fast, secure and compliant connections to the cloud." We have noticed some inappropriate Internet surfing and address those individuals and situations when necessary.
Cameras. Active remote synchronous learning engagement is a key to your child's overall academic success. While it is not required, we encourage students to have cameras on during synchronous learning sessions. Our mission is to Collaborate to Ensure High Levels of Learning for All, and when students' actively engage, we know they learn more and feel more connected to both their teachers and peers. We love to see our students and your support is highly appreciated!
Lastly, I wanted to send a SHOUT OUT to the 6th Grade Team and 6th Grade Students! The 6th Grade Students LEAD THE WAY, completing the most iReady Personalized Pathway lessons (linked later below), which leads to an improvement in their Math and Reading skills. Working on these skills is crucial during this time period in their learning.
Take good care of yourselves and one another,
Respectfully,
Mr. John K. Jonak

Tips for parents regarding Teacher Office Hours:
Please confirm with your student that he/she is participating. Students with missing assignments or grades below a C should be meeting with teachers during this time to get caught up and receive extra help. Students with up to date assignments and grades C or above should use this time to check in with teachers, ask questions, and receive feedback.
