Head of School Weekly Update
April 26, 2019
Westminster Family,
It's been another week full of excitement and learning at Westminster. I’ve heard from many of you that this new format for the weekly email makes it much more conducive to reading on your phone. Please offer input any time you see ways we can better serve your students and you.
Congratulations to the varsity tennis team on an exemplary season. Led by Christy Howel, they have combined a sense of family with determination and character, representing Christ well. The team won the Sportsmanship Award at the state tournament on Tuesday. This is a great accomplishment because it is voted on by all other teams who are competing.
Yesterday at Upper we held our annual Fine Arts chapel. It was such a blessing to hear from our Art, Band, and Choir departments on how a biblical worldview is seamless in creativity. The presentations illustrated the fact that every one of our students ‘is fearfully and wonderfully made’. All of us who have been a part of choir or band can appreciate the immense sacrifice of time and preparation that is invested for such a stellar product. It was made even more special by the parents and grandparents that attended. We have invited you from time to time, but always remember you are welcome and appreciated for chapel or any of these events.
The varsity baseball team won their first round of the AHSAA state championships and will be hosting Vinemont today beginning at 4:30. The softball team is also hosting a game beginning at 6. We’d love to have you support these Wildcats.
Have a great weekend!
Stephen
