Social Media at CLIU21
In an effort to reinvent and revitalize the way in which we communicate with stakeholders to meet them where they are, we have launched a social media presence on Facebook and Twitter. In these venues, we will be highlighting classroom activities, special programs, awards and recognitions, and upcoming events. We encourage anyone with a stake in CLIU21 activity to like our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter. Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 Professional Development Catalog
In an effort to communicate all the the options for professional development available for contract at CLIU, we have developed a Professional Development Catalog. This catalog highlights seminars, workshops, trainings, and CPE courses available for groups or individuals through various departments in the IU. You can access the Professional Development Catalog on the CLIU website or Facebook page. Content Networking Groups
Staff Development Facilitators, Cathy Enders and Colleen Lenett, are resuming the very popular Content Networking Groups this year with a focus on the PA Common Core. Districts are encouraged to send content area leaders to these workshops to discover tools that will help them transform their curriculum with the PA Common Core in mind. Teachers also have the opportunity to talk to colleagues in other districts and share ideas. Click here for a listing of groups and dates. Schools Cannot Do It Alone
On October 10, 2012, nationally acclaimed public school advocate, Jamie Vollmer will be presenting a seminar and discussion based on his book, "Schools Cannot Do It Alone." Schools Cannot Do It Alone confronts the threats to public education, and presents a practical, doable plan to increase student success. Vollmer’s community-based program, called “The Great Conversation,” provides step-by-step instructions to tackle the major obstacles to school improvement.
