ATTENTION: Please Review the Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Dear parents/guardians:
Please note that 8:20 a.m. is the earliest time that students can arrive at school. We do not provide supervision for students prior to that time. Our first bell rings at 8:35 a.m. The school day starts promptly at 8:45 a.m. If your student is not sitting at their seat, ready for the day at that time, they will be marked tardy. This is reminder that students are expected to attend school every day. If your student will not be at school, please contact the main office prior to 9:00 a.m. to properly excuse the absence. All absences should be reported to the main office by phone call, (715) 345-5418, or email (spionek@pointschools.net).
Families using the drop off/pick up lane on Oak Street, please pull all the way up towards Wyatt Avenue. We realize that it is easier to drop K-2 students off by their gate and the 3-6 students off by their entrance, but this causes a back-up of vehicles. We need your help to keep our drop off line moving and to keep the Oak Street and East Avenue intersection safe. Please also yield to our safety cadets and crossing guards. If you need to assist your student in getting into and/or out of a car seat, please pull all the way up to the corner of Oak Street and Wyatt Avenue to do so. This allows other cars to safely exit the drop off/pick up lane. As of late, we are also having issues with cars in the Oak Street crosswalk. The following will not be allowed:
STOPPING TO DROP OFF STUDENTS WHILE ON A CROSSWALK IS PROHIBITED.
PARKING YOUR VEHICLE IN THE DROP OFF LANE IS ALSO PROHIBITED.
Students are dismissed at 3:35pm each day. We ask that family members or individuals picking students up to please wait outside of the school gates until the bell rings. We do have recesses and other activities scheduled on the playground until the end of the day. All students need to be picked up by 4:00 p.m. as this is when office hours end.
Sincerely,
Molly Demrow
Principal

VIRTUAL
Monday, February 21, 2022, face-coverings will be strongly recommended, but not required, for students (aged 5+), staff, and visitors in schools and District buildings.

Gesell preschool is under district supervision and serves 3-year-old students at the Gesell Institute on the UWSP campus. This program is tuition-based, but for $600 per year, it is an unbelievable value for families. For this program, families are required to self-transport. Click Here for more details!

Do you have an upcoming 4K student? 4K Enrollment is now open for the 2022-2023 school year! If you haven't heard, 4K will now be offered at Jefferson Elementary School! Be sure to enroll your student today!

5 & 6 Grade Track Meet Shirt!
At the end of the school year, our 5th & 6th Graders will be participating in the annual Gene LaRose District Track Meet at Goerke Field on May 24 and 25. We have a Jefferson T-shirt designed specifically for the track meet for Jefferson 5th & 6th Graders. These T-shirts will be different from any Jefferson School apparel sold in the fall or spring. We strongly encourage all students to wear this T-shirt to the track meet so that we can all represent Jefferson Elementary School and are easily recognizable amongst all of the other schools.
The cost of the T-shirt will be $8.00 each. Orders must be turned in by Tuesday, March 15, to allow enough time for shirts to be printed. If any family would like to donate or purchase an additional T-shirt for our unit that would be greatly appreciated. Students who order track meet T-shirts in 5th Grade can then use the T-shirt in 6th Grade as the shirt design will stay the same for future school years.
Thanks,
Mrs. Bartnik

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Wisconsin
We need Little Sisters!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Wisconsin has been working diligently to serve more students that need 1:1 mentoring. We know that children have faced many challenges in the past few years and want to connect them with a supportive, consistent role model. With additional recruitment efforts, we have lowered the number of waiting children, particularly our Community-Based waiting Little Sisters. If you think your student could benefit from our Little Sister mentoring services, please view the attached parent information form and application. Please do understand that if you were to apply as a Little Brother for our program, you will be considered, however that wait time would be significantly longer than any Little Sister.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Beth Kohnert, Program Director at Big Brothers Big Sisters, at 715-341-0661 or at bethk@bigimpact.org.
