HTC Culinary Arts

Huot Culinary Art students are completing a year long unit on the USDA requirements for institutional food service programs. Once a week students help prepare various dishes in the Laconia High School kitchens.

Laconia School Board

On October 15th, the Laconia School Board Chairperson, Malcolm Murray, recognized Ward 2 Board Member, Barbara Luther, for her years of service.


Board Members are elected by the community to represent the people of the community in the oversight of operations and direction of the school district.


In addition, each board member participates in small group work outside of the full board, including the Policy Committee, Facilities Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and the Budget & Personnel Committee.


Thank you, Ms. Luther, for your dedication and countless hours of work that have been beneficial to the Laconia School District!

Preschool Family Night

On October 17th, Preschool families from Elm Street School, Pleasant Street School and Woodland Heights School had an opportunity to come together for one Preschool Family Night. The evening was an informational night for families to feel connected to the the District, community and to each other.

Woodland Heights School

WHS Students, Staff and Families carved over 300 Pumpkins on October 17th in preparation for Pumpkin Fest 2019!

It was a great event for staff, students and volunteers!


Mark Your Calendars for "Trunk or Treat"

Friday, November 1st from 6-7PM

WHS will be hosting Trunk or Treat. Entry Fee is $5 for decorated trunks, winner will take home 1/2 of the money raised.

Trunk or Treat is free and open to all families who want a fun, safe place to do a little extra Trick or Treating

Pleasant Street School

Mrs. Magdziasz's fourth grade students at PSS have been learning about the economy. The culminating project was to create a business. Pictured are students showcasing their businesses to grade 3 students.

Office of School Wellness

On Monday, October 21st, Laconia School District Office of School Wellness intern, Emily Parker, educated middle and high school field hockey teams on basic sports nutrition to improve performance and recovery.


On Friday, October 25th, Stand Up Sachems, with the help of the Office of School Wellness and the LHS Universal Team, handed out “messages in a bottle”!

These messages, handwritten by students, aim to promote kindness (to yourself and others) and the choice to live a drug-free lifestyle.

Office of Extended Learning

The Office of Extended Learning in partnership with the historic Belknap Milll, "Lit up a Landmark" on October 24th to draw attention to the need for more after-school programming to serve the millions of children nationwide who are unsupervised and at risk each weekday after the school day ends. The partnership between the Office of Extended Learning and the Belknap Mill has included after-school programming featuring STEM/STEAM implementing FIRST Robotics Competition and the incorporation of the fine arts with the Artist-in-Residence Larry Frates.
