Week of March 21st - 25th

Spring break is just about here. I want to thank each of you for your continued hard work and dedication to Rosa Parks School and to our students. However before we can begin the break please take time self assess where you are academically with your students, because when we return we will begin our testing. Please continue to encourage our students to always do their best.

I know that many of you are looking forward to time off next week, I wish you a safe and restful break. As the weather gets warmer, outdoor activities increase, so please remember to be safe and enjoy time with your family and friends.


TESTING!!! Attn: Teachers Grades 3-5

On Monday, March 21st from 10:00AM - 11:00AM. Every student in grades 3-5 will participate in State Wide Infrastructure test. This will give us the opportunity to really check our Chromebooks and WAP's to see if they can handle the test. In order for everyone to participate with no problems, some planning times will have to be adjusted.

5th Grade: 11:15am - 12:00pm

3rd Grade: 2:15pm - 3:00pm

1st Grade: 9:45am -10:30am

Primary Grades please be advised that 1 computer cart from each grade level will be moved to accommodate testing. If you have any questions please let me know.

Staff Meetings

This week we will 2 staff meetings that are important:

1. Staff Meeting on Wednesday is a Mandatory staff meeting about State Non-Compliant with 504 Plans. This will only take about 10 minutes.

2. 3-5 Teachers Testing materials for upcoming AIR Test. At this meeting you will receive your testing manuals so you can have time to review over the directions in preparation for testing when we return from Spring Break. Meeting time 7:45am - 8:30am

Please submit the nominations and t-shirt sizes no later than March 18th. When submitting recommendations please remember the following: (Letter Templates Attached).

  • On building letterhead
  • 3 paragraphs
  • Double spaced
  • Times New Roman 12
  • Name of person submitting should be typed
  • Signed and dated by person submitting
  • T-shirt size


This week everyone will be administering their SLO Post assessment. Please don't forget the dates you have worked out during Teacher Chat time.

Don't forget the registration window for Summer PD is now open. Please make sure that you log on to register. Attached is the Summer PD class list. If you have any questions please ask.

Transfer Students

Teachers, when we have students transfer from our school to another, within our district, we have to make sure, that we have all the information ready to be sent. Please make sure that you working with Mrs. Kelly to have the necessary information ready when asked.
