HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 3 Week 2 Friday 29 July
FROM MARK
Hi Everyone,
Another really enjoyable week draws to a close, with much to give thanks for.
Congratulations to all our children who participated in the interschool cross country on Tuesday - a spectacular effort! 4th place out f 16 schools. Many thanks to Rob Flexman for giving our many enthusiastic runners the opportunity to participate, and to Julie Catherall who runs running club. Julie resumed running club on the first day of term at 7.30 - and the children remembered to come! Great numbers turned up and have continued to do so. Thank you so much Julie for sharing your expertise with our children and motivating them to get stuck in to it and give of their best.
And to our Year One Gang! What a fantastic assembly today! A legendary performance celebrating NAIDOC week, ably led by teachers Kaity and Bec, and assistants Kate and Teresa. Wonderful, topical, reverent, fun - a great combination!
We are celebrating St Dominic’s Day next Friday. This is celebration of the founding father of the wonderful Dominican religious tradition on which our school and parish are founded. Again, we are really pleased to have the opportunity to partner with our outstanding P&F to include a ‘Colour Run’ as the major P&F fundraising event for 2022. This will be a special day!
Have a great weekend.

CPSSA CROSS COUNTRY
On August 12 Holy Holy Rosary competed in the CPSSA Cross Country Carnival with 16 other schools. Holy Rosary did fantastically well finishing 4th overall out of 16 schools, some much larger schools.
We were very proud of the squad they all ran so well and tried their very best. I would like to thank Mrs Catherall, Mr Thacker and Mr Edwards for their help on the day and Mrs Catherall for all her coaching sessions.
The squad now has the chance to compete in the Primary School Cross Country Championships at UWA Sports Park on August 12. We will continue running club for squad members only and sessions will run on August 2nd 4th and 9th on the school oval from 7:40am to 8:15am.
