Reminders About Employee Personal Leave
Below are some reminders about District policies in regard to employee personal leave as we approach the end of the school year:
Personal Leave: Personal leave may not be used during the first or last five student contact days of the school year. Personal leave may not be used to extend a holiday. No more than 15 staff members requiring a substitute will be granted a personal day on any given day District-wide. Personal leave will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Personal Leave Caps: Employees should plan ahead. We have already met the 15 employee personal day cap on May 12. The following days are getting close to the 15-person limit: April 14 and May 5.
Perfect Attendance Day Stipend: Employees with perfect attendance during the school year can choose between a $300 stipend or a Perfect Attendance Day available to use anytime within the following school year, with prior principal or supervisor approval. Employees not returning for the following school year will receive a $300 perfect attendance stipend.
Personal Day Stipend: Employees who do not use their personal day during the year will receive a $100 stipend. Any additional unused personal leave will be paid out at $100 per day, only if the employee has not used any sick leave as well, not otherwise provided under the state and federal FMLA laws.
*Attendance stipends are prorated based on scheduled hours worked per week and hire date.

Assemble Your Teams for the NJSD April Step Challenge
For the month of April, our wellness focus is physical activity. To celebrate the month, we are going to do a NJSD Step Challenge! The challenge will be run through Go365 and will go from April 1-30. Members can enroll in the challenge through Go365 from March 24-31. You must enroll during this period, as the challenge does not let you join late. During this time frame, look for the challenge that is titled "NJSD April Step Challenge."
Participants can create teams from 2-10 participants. The challenge is open to staff, spouses, and adult dependents. If you are not a Go365 member, we encourage you to get a team of other non-members together to participate with, though only members' points will be added to the challenge totals.
Instructions for joining are below. Good luck and let the fun begin!
Next EFN Grant Request Deadline is April 7
The Educational Foundation of the Neenah Joint School District (EFN) provides a wonderful opportunity for NJSD staff members to receive funding for new and innovative teaching practices and programs, programs designed to address the developmental, emotional and social needs of students, and other school related programs and clubs. EFN has funded small requests of as little as $200-330 and large requests of as much as several thousand dollars.
If you do submit a grant application, please provide a detailed description of your project (the more we know the better we can evaluate your request) and any documentation you have to verify or estimate the cost of your project. Upon receipt of a grant application, EFN will contact you to arrange for your appearance at our next scheduled board meeting so you can appear via zoom meeting to answer any questions the EFN board may have about your grant request and to present any relevant information not contained in the grant application.
The next grant request deadline is Friday, April 7. Click here for more information and to submit a grant request.
** UPDATE: If you have been awarded a grant through EFN, or are planning to submit for an award, please note that any purchase ordering is only available until April 1.
You can submit for reimbursement for purchased items after you receive them prior to June 1.
