Sad News Regarding PGHS Family

It saddens us to share that Lauren Laird, a substitute and math teacher in our Alternative Education Program passed away late last week. Ms. Laird was a math substitute at both the middle and high school for the past two years. She started her teaching by serving as a Student Teacher under Mr. Bailey, middle school math teacher.

Lauren was a beautiful person who invested in the lives of many students and had a spirit of joy and care. "Ms. Laird was the kind of teacher that understood the importance of building caring and positive relationships with students." - Dr. Ziegler

If you sense that your child is struggling mourning the loss of Ms. Laird, please notify our school counselors. Our counseling team is prepared to support your son/daughter through this tragic loss.

Statement from Lauren's Family:
Arrangements have been made for our beloved Lauren Laird's service. On Monday, May 4 at 6 pm at Morning Star Fellowship, we will be holding a celebration of her beautiful life. This is a time to laugh, to cry, to rejoice, and to give praise to God for the amazing being He put on this earth for 26 glorious years. In lieu of flowers, we humbly ask for a more permanent way to honor her. We want her soul to live on past anything something material could provide. To donate in her name, please go to the Love for Lauren page where you will find the post to link you to the appropriate site. If you have on your heart a certain cause or organization you find Lauren's spirit directing you to, please give on behalf of her. We thank you for all of your love, support, and most importantly prayers. We would love to see all the hearts of those Lauren transformed on Monday as we stand united in God's glory and love that was so great He let us have Lauren for as long as we did.

Pack and Purge

ACT 80 Day Time will be used for PACKING!!!!! This will take place this Wednesday, May 6, 2015

Summer renovations will be here before we know it. The summer renovation will require the cleaning out of the 100 & 200 wings along with any classroom/office in the library/cafeteria area. All classrooms in these areas will need to be cleaned out before the last day of school. Now is a good time to begin purging and packing. As we get closer to this date, it may be wise to remove your personal belongings from your classroom. If you want to start packing now, we will have boxes available for you shortly. These areas will be renovated over the summer of 2015. The SS/Science wing will not be renovated until the summer of 2016. However, Rooms 5, 7, and 9 will need to be relocated due to building of the science lab in Room 7.

Label your boxes with your First and Last Name and new Room Number
