News for the week of January 2nd

Miss Cleasby's 4K News

Welcome Back!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing time over winter break! It was a little disappointing we were not able to have our holiday party on the Friday before break due to the snow day. We will not be rescheduling it, but we will be sending home a gift that was meant to be sent home over break. In this short week we will be starting a unit on "Snow/Mittens". We will also be reading and acting out the classic book "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. Below you will find a video of this story.

We will start sending home 4K Literacy Bags next week Tuesday, January 8th to those families that signed up to receive them. The “book bags”, as I will refer to them, usually contain books, activities, stuffed animals, and various other items that relate to the book bag theme. The “book bags” are designed to be fun and informative ways for families to share literacy and learning experiences at home. Book Bags are a way to connect our school family with your home family in meaningful and enjoyable ways. The bags may contain specific theme related books and materials for you to enjoy at home with your child.

The “book bags” will be sent home with students on Tuesdays and should be returned to school by the following Monday. We have 10 book bags per class (am and pm). Not every student will get to take home a bag each week. However, we will keep track and make sure that every student will be getting equal turns taking the different bags home.

*Please mark your calendars for a special parent/child craft night in February. The craft night will be held on Tuesday, February 11th at the Elementary School cafeteria from 6:00- 7:00 pm. All three 4K classes will be combined for this fun event. We will be making a valentine craft and singing a few songs :) More information to come about this fun event!
