Lovejoy Orchestra Newsletter
February 8, 2017
Parents,
Mr. Sloan and Mrs. Winkler are travelling to San Antonio this week for the annual Texas Music Educators Association Conference. We will be attending 4 days worth of different classes geared towards Orchestra Directors, information on technology to use in the orchestra rehearsal, and several rehearsals and concerts of the best orchestra's in the state of Texas. We will still have access to email and will be in communication if anything arises.
Our next performance is quickly approaching, see below for more details.
The Philharmonic Orchestra will perform next on February 27th at our Winter Concert. This concert will be much shorter than normal because all UIL groups will be performing in a separate performance on a different night. This concert starts at 6:30 p.m. in the LHS Auditorium. Philharmonic Orchestra will need to arrive at 6:30 p.m. in the orchestra room wearing their formal uniform.
Symphonic and Chamber Orchestra's have 2 performances coming up. The first is our Pre-UIL Concert which will be here in the auditorium at LHS starting at 6:30 on Thursday, Febrary 16th. We will have judges here to help us better prepare for our contest. Their next performance will be on March 1-2 for UIL at the Allen HS PAC. The UIL times will not be available until about 1-2 weeks before. We will email out these times as soon as we get them!
If you have any questions please let us know!
