Music Club Fundraiser

The music club is looking for support in some up coming fundraisers. They are trying to raise the adequate funds to do a field trip to Disneyland in June. The goal is large, but the students are really looking forward to it. On the trip, students will be learning how professional music studios record music for movies and tv shows. They get to participate by making their own recording that will play with a movie clip!

We are asking for help through some restaurant fundraisers. There are three dates coming up where support is requested. I have put them below and I’ll send out some reminders as we get closer to each one. All you have to do is eat some food and we get parts of the proceeds!

  • Saturday, March 4th, 2023: Chipotle in National City. Students will be passing out information during the week leading up to it. The event will be between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm.

Black History Month

This Wednesday, February 1 we will begin our month-long program to honor and celebrate the achievements and history of African Americans as part of Black History Month.

WE HAVE A SWIM TEAM!

We have a swim coach. His name is Coach Joe Davalos. He’s coming in with a tremendous amount of experience not only as a former educator but having been and participated in swim as a young kid and head coached at numerous schools around the county. Here are the next steps taking place.

  • Interested students need to begin registering for Swim. We will need boys and girls to participate with the hopes to build a water polo team in the near future.

  • We are not officially in league but will be looking to participate in possible meets and competitions based on our numbers.

If your student is interested in joining our new swim team please have them contact our Athletic Director, Coach Fai dfai@sandi.net

Fall Semester Book Returns

It's not too late to return fall semester textbooks and previous year, novels from English classes, calculators and library books. The sooner, the better! Having sufficient material for Spring semester students is dependent upon Fall semester students returning their material in a timely manner. Students and teachers can check their library account to confirm what material(s) they have out and to ensure the material they are turning in the exact items that got checked out to them. Feel free to email me at cgavilanes@sandi.net with any questions. Thank you!

Students are not allowed to leave campus during the school day or walk out into the parking lot. Food must be delivered at the beginning of lunch. Students will not be allowed to miss class time to come to the Welcome Center once class begins. Food will be secured, and students can get it after school.
