Mr. Posick's Friday Thoughts
May 17, 2013
I was out of the building Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week attending a state-mandated training for Educator Effectiveness. Mr. Budisch, Mr. Russ, Mr. Pomeroy, Mrs. Shannon, and Mrs. Czerwonka were all in attendance learning about this new teacher evaluation system. Soon we will be providing the staff and all of you with more information regarding this exciting adventure. On Thursday I was able to do what I love, visit classrooms and see students and teachers in action. Friday was a completely different as I attended the play "Gathering Blue" with our 8th graders. Next week will be a different week altogether, which is why I love being a principal!
Check out the picture of our new lobby!
Thanks to Mrs. Bartelt and our art students, there is a shiny new look to our lobby. If you haven't had a chance to see it in person, please stop in to check it out. My picture doesn't do it justice.
Writers' Roundup article in the Lake Country Reporter
As I mentioned last week, Mr. Budisch and I were able to attend the Writers' Roundup at Camp Whitcomb. Next week there will be an article in the Lake Country Reporter about Writers' Roundup and the Writers' Roundup concert that will be held on May 29th in the Little Theater. You can read about it here (http://www.livinglakecountry.com/blogs/staffblogs/207378371.html).
I am completely amazed that we are already half way through May. Our learning is still in full effect and I look forward to our upcoming Spring Concert and Art Show which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st. If you are able to assist with the set up for the Art Show, please contact Mrs. Bartelt at barteltm@merton.k12.wi.us or use this link. (http://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040E4BAFA72EA02-artfaire).
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend and I appreciate your continued support of Merton Schools.
