Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!

What a year 2020 has been so far! Just think, our 3 year old students will be the graduating class of 2035 and our 4 year old students the graduating class of 2034. What do we want them to remember about this upcoming school year as they look back as high school graduates? We'd like them to remember the year as unique. An opportunity for them to engage in learning in ways they never have before, and may never again. We'd like them to remember the silly songs we will sing to help remind them to keep their masks on. We'd like them to remember how they got their very own supply box with supplies they didn't have to share with anyone. We'd like them to remember that although the year was different, they were able to build relationships and connect with people in new and different ways.

We can't wait to meet your families and our littlest learners. This is going to be a BIG year for us at Pine Ridge Prep and we are so excited to get started! Enclosed in this newsletter is a variety of important information that will help to start the year off well.

Our first day of school will be on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. We will be in Phase 1, meaning all students will be in remote learning. We will have a phased reopening. See below for more information regarding each phase. Please note that preschool students will start 5 days a week, full days once we move into Phase 2 of the reopening plan. This date is flexible and depends on local health conditions.

We are excited to share we have our new 100% Remote Learning Option to serve families who would like to learn fully online at home. We have a comprehensive Pk-12 curriculum, district-provided devices that are given to our Topeka Public Schools families, virtual field trips are offered, and our remote learning options allow for your child to remain connected with the certified teachers in Topeka Public Schools. Our remote learning staff will be contacting all families by August 7, 2020, to share information on orientation, resources, and to share the new innovative opportunities made available for remote learning families.

It's time to ensure that your students are registered for the 2020-2021 school year. We have two options for you to complete registration:

1 - You may complete registration online at this link. If you need your username / password, please email preschool@tps501.org or call the enrollment office at 785-438-6899.

2 - You may call the enrollment office and complete online registration over the phone or schedule an appointment.

If you call and a staff member is not available to answer the phone, please leave a detailed message, and we will return your call as soon as possible.
