This week will be a catch-up week for students who may have missed the first assignment. Since March 13, 2020 there has been two lessons. The first lesson was due 3-31-2020. The second lesson is due 4-10-2020. If you missed the first lesson you can do some makeup work on Khan Academy join my class at the link https://www.khanacademy.org/join/XKVDVJS6 email me when you sign up so I can assign you the grammar lessons.
Or if Khan doesn’t work for you. Look at the assignment below.
Watch or read about anything that interests you. Then answer the 6 questions below in complete sentences with proper grammar. One of the 6 questions must be in (ACE). Do this for 3 separate topics. The six questions you must answer are: WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY, and HOW??????
For example, my topic might be APPLE phones. My responses may look like this.
WHO---Steve Jobs created the Apple computer company.
WHEN---The first APPLE iPhone came out in 2007.
WHAT-----The best iPhone is the iPhone 11+. According to https://www.techradar.com/news/best-iphone this phone gets “the most bang for your buck”. The 11+ version has many great features for a much smaller price tag than the newest version. (ACE)
This assignment is due by 4-12-2020. My email is elizabeth.henke13@gmail.com please put you name in the subject for credit.
A student who is all caught up on work can also choose one of these options for credit if they want to work ahead.
I would like to shout out the 20 students who have stepped up and showed up. This is your time to get some real-world experience for college or a career. The world is going to be more digital for a while. It is very important that we take this rare opportunity to gain real-life experience on how to communicate with future instructors and/or employers. I am very proud of the level of professionalism, organization, and high level thinking I am getting from students who are trying to complete their work. I encourage you to continue to reach out and ask questions when needed. I am very impressed with the revisions made using feedback. We don’t have to be in the classroom to learn and grow. When life gives us lemons, we can make lemonade. I hope to see more students work on skills needed for the future. This is not simply busy work. I am keeping grades and reporting those grades weekly. As always, if anyone is having trouble doing any assignment for any reason please reach out to me and I will modify it. My email is elizabeth.henke13@gmail.com you can email me any time.

Hola muchachos
It is time to start our new story “Las Excusas/The excuses”. Remember that even though we all are going through unprecedented times we still have responsibilities and with a good organization we will be able to accomplish anything we want.
This story is also going to last three weeks. The lesson is, as usual going to be divided in 3 sections. First watching the video as many times as needed, second work on your nuggets and answer the questions, and finally do the test to proof how well you did understand the story.
1. The first week which starts on Monday 13th and ends on Saturday 18th you are going to work on Nuggets 1 to 4. They are due on Saturday 18th. Working 10-15 minutes every other day will be enough. Don’t forget to mix your nuggets work with spending some time watching the instructional video “Las excusas de Emma”. The video is located in the VIDEO tab of student’s accounts.
2. The second week which starts on Monday the 20th and ends on Saturday 25th you are going to work on Nuggets 4 to 7 and email me your answers to the questions below. Again spend some time watching the video “Las excusas de Emma on your Video tab in senorwooly.com and respond to the following questions based on the story:
You can find the video in your Sr. Wooly student account on the VIDEO tab of Las excusas.
1. ¿Adónde va Emma?
2. ¿Qué problema tiene Emma?
3. ¿A quién ve Emma?
4. ¿Qué le dice Emma a la persona?
5. En tú opinión, ¿el perro de Emma comió la tarea?
6. ¿Cómo describió Emma a su hermano?
7. ¿Cuántos hermanos tiene?
8. ¿Qué significa ‘vecino’?
9. ¿Cuál es un sinónimo de “gripe”?
10. ¿Quiénes le creen a Emma?
11. ¿Quién encuentra* la tarea de Emma? ¿Emma lo hizo?
Once you answer your questions send them to:
No later than Saturday April the 25th.
3. And finally the third week(from Monday April 27 to Saturday May 2nd) you will work on Nuggets 7 to 10. Starting on Wednesday the 29th and until Saturday May 2nd you will have the test available for 4 days.
This will complete your work for the story “Las Excusas/ The excuses”
Just a reminder. I am keeping a record of every single assignment you do or you don’t do.
I have emailed to everyone.
Please email me back with your questions or concerns.

Agri Science
Students need to complete three one page papers on anything that deals with Agri Science.
Due date: It must be emailed by April 8, 2020
Examples:
- Agricultural technology. Technology is popping up in every single academic and work field under the sun, but agriculture is benefiting very obviously. Much of today’s agricultural technology is intriguing and effective. Exploring technological advancement in agriculture, as well as its economic and social effects, makes for a great paper.
- Renewable energy. Astoundingly, many agricultural products are now being considered as possible energy sources – for example, a corn-based ethanol as a replacement for gasoline. Agriculture is fast becoming an important factor in the future of clean, renewable and alternative energy.
- A dying art – the agricultural work force. In reality, there is an insanely small amount of people that work in agriculture. This tiny minority works to feed nations, and exploring this workforce – as well as the future of such a workforce – leads to startling discoveries.
- Environmental issues. There has always been debate over the rules of agricultural expansion and environmental protection. When does agriculture rule, and when does the environment? How does agriculture affect ecosystems and the surrounding land? What are the environmental implications of commercial agriculture?
- Supply lines or finances. Ever consider the lengthy supply lines of agriculture? Every consider how much money goes in to producing agricultural products? Look it up – you’ll find some fascinating and unbelievable research that could contribute to your paper.
- Animal rights. Much of agricultural is based on animal products, and animal rights are a serious and constant issue in this market. Address laws, regulations, standards and conditions regarding animals in the agricultural business – you’ll find some interesting thesis starters.
- Pesticides. The effect of pesticides, safe choices for pesticides and alternative methods to pesticides have all been hot topics for many years. Pick something in this real to research for an interesting paper.
- Organic vs. Inorganic. There has been a rise in awareness on what is ‘organic’ vs. ‘inorganic.’ What are the health, financial, and business implications of this recent schism? How might it affect individual farmers or even larger productions?
- Cultural and political effects. Believe it or not, agriculture shapes much of today’s political and social movements. Find those connections for an interesting research paper read.

Students will have the opportunity to complete the coursework during this academic year.
The course status will transition to “in-progress” and students will be able to complete the coursework by August 31, 2020. If “in-progress” is selected, the course will end in a final grade. If the student receives a passing grade college credit will be received and posted to the official college transcript. It is imperative that students work diligently to complete assignments.
The student can withdraw from the course via an “Administrative Withdrawal.” The student will not receive a grade, nothing will be posted to the official college transcript, no college credit will be received.
