ELD Department News
Keeping you in the know!
Kudos to You!!
On Tuesday, March fifteenth, 68 ESL students from six different high schools travelled to college campuses in Colorado Springs. Students visited Pikes Peak Community Colleges’ north campus and heard from college students and faculty about programs such as automotive technology and computer science. They enjoyed visiting a dental assistance classroom with a real dentist’s chair and equipment. Next, our students visited the UCCS campus. While there, they learned about admission requirements and tuition programs. Students toured areas of campus and caught a glimpse of college life with a visit to student housing, the recreation center, science labs, and a lecture hall. Our participating ESL students included seniors making choices for next year and younger students exploring their post-secondary options. ESL teachers reported their students were excited and enthusiastic after their college visit!
