Many designers eventually run their own business / clothing label and create goods for direct costumers or online shopping outlets.. A very small portion of sweater designers sell their products at a large scale store or business

The average median annual wage of $73,570, a median hourly salary of $35.37. Also there is national employment rate of 17,370.

Job Outlook and Education

25% of all sweater designers are self employed. In 2004 the total employment number of sweater designers was only 121000, although the predicted is 22900. There is a significate increase in this number. Sweater designing ,just like another fashion career, usually requires at least an Associate's Degree.


Multiple art or fashion institutes offer design classes required to be a sweater designer. In North Texas the following schools offer theses courses,such as The Art Institute Of Dallas A ,South University Campus ,El Centro College , University Of North Texas ,Texas Women's University , and Baylor University
