Welcome to 5J's Class Newsletter
What a crazy first semester!
5J Family
Welcome to our class newsletter! Take a look into your first semester. All students in 5J have worked very hard this semester and shared lots of laughs together. I am very proud of each and every one of them, and they should be proud of themselves too. They have become responsible learners and have put their learning first!
I would like to thank you parents and caregivers for your support with your children's learning, especially during the home learning period.
Mathematics
5J has been mathematicians this semester! We have worked collaboratively, independently and as a whole. All students should be very proud of what they have gained this semester.

Focus on Visualising
Students used visualisation on what they could hear in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8myYyMg1fFE) to paint a painting. They then used the painting they have created to describe what they could hear, see, smell , feel and taste in a descriptive writing piece.
Students really enjoyed this lesson using their paintings they had created as a stimulus for writing.
Fire Literacy
Term 2 we have been focusing the topic of bushfires for literacy. Students have been writing descriptive texts and have been researching factual information to produce informative texts. We have looked at a variety of different text types to produce an informative fact sheet and an evacuation plan.
