"Win the Day" - 2022-2023 Nohl Canyon Vision
"Win the Day" calls for each Nohl Canyon Community member to put forth their best individual effort each day, accomplish pre-set goals, and be the best PERSON they can be by following the Kaizen montra - "Continuous Improvement".
On Thursday, NC students participated in our "Win the Day" Expectation Assembly. Please view the Win the Day Expectation Assembly Presentation
Students were challenged with completing 1 small goal on Friday morning.. To make their Bed! How many accomplished it and were able to say they "Won the day"?!

Give your child the gift of learning Spanish! In this class, students will have the opportunity to dive into the Spanish language and culture. Classes will incorporate art, storytelling, games, music, and multimedia activities to learn Spanish in a fun way! This class is great for new and returning students.

Nutrition Services Parent Letter: 2022 Non-Pricing Letter
At Nohl Canyon, breakfast (served during the 10:00 recess time) and lunch are free to all students. We do need to log students name and/or ID # to account for the number of meals being served. This number (meals served) is provided to the state and Federal Government for funding purposes.
Schedule of meals served:
Monday / Tuesday / Thursday / Friday: Recess and Lunch
WEDNESDAY: Breakfast will be served before school (location will be in front of school), "Brunch" will be served at recess. There is NO meals served after school. CARES students will need to pack a lunch on Wednesday's as there is NO Grab-n-Go lunches.

School Uniforms - American Casual
Nohl Canyon is a Uniform School:
UNIFORM POLICY:
Tops – Nohl Canyon Uniform shirts are to be worn each day. NC Spirit shirts are allowed throughout the week, along with scheduled themed days (Wednesday = College day). Nohl Canyon allows Free Dress on the final Friday of each month.
Bottoms – Uniform bottoms are to be any type (jeans and leggings included) of solid bottoms with no holes, stripes, or patterns. Colors are Black, Blue, Khaki, uniform plaid.

Message from Mr. Jones, Principal
Bio on Mr. Jones:
Mr. Jeffrey Jones is excited to begin his 4th year at Nohl Canyon Elementary School. He is entering his 24th year as an educator and 18th year with Orange Unified School District. He looks forward to continuing to build collaborative partnerships with staff, students and parents to provide innovative learning experiences for all students!
Mr. Jones previously served Orange Unified School District as an Assistant Principal at Villa Park High School (2014-2019). Prior to his administration position, Mr. Jones taught Physical Education at Cerro Villa Middle School (2005-2014) and J.H. Hull Middle School (1999-2004) in the Torrance Unified School District. Mr. Jones earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration in 2012 from Concordia University. He completed his Kinesiology and Physical Education degree along with his teaching credential from California State University, Long Beach (1999).
Mr. Jones’ passion is to create an environment where students, staff and parents feel welcomed and safe on a daily basis. He strives for all students to feel engaged in their learning environment. Nohl Canyon is that place and Mr. Jones is humbled to be part of a wonderful community.

CARES Registration Information for 2022-2023 School Year
2022/2023 CARES ENROLLMENT FLYER. The CARES program will begin enrollment for the 2022/23 school year on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
Attached you will find our Eleyo account profile help sheet. Eleyo is our registration, billing and attendance system.
Parents must set up an account in order to register for CARES and camps.
