Mill Valley Weekly
Thursday, December 10, 2020
Hello Mill Valley Families,
Holiday Spirit is all around this week! Donations for the food pantry are pouring in as the bins are overflowing. We also have captured some great spirit day pictures below. Keep the spirit flowing throughout the next week and a half.
Heads up...it looks like we might be getting snow tomorrow. Please be sure your student has the appropriate outerwear for recess, (snow pants, snow boots, hat, gloves, scarf, coat). We will have recess outside unless the wind chill is below zero.
Sincerely,
Robin Schrot, Principal
Allyce Harris, Associate Principal

Updated Quarantine Guidelines for COVID-19
Waukesha County Public Health has updated its quarantine guidelines to align with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
Research shows that people who remain asymptomatic ten days after COVID-19 exposure are at a low risk of transmitting it to others. Therefore the Waukesha County Public Health Department has updated the guidelines to reflect the following:
An individual's official quarantine will be shortened to 10 days, provided the individual is asymptomatic and continues to monitor for symptoms for the full 14 days
A 14-day quarantine remains the safest option for Close Contacts of someone with COVID-19. A family may contact the School Health Office to request their child maintain a quarantine for up to 14 days
The Waukesha County Public Health Department has provided an additional 7 Day Quarantine option which requires a COVID-19 test. The district is developing a process for application of this option. This information will be shared with families prior to implementation of the 7 Day Quarantine option.
The 7 Day Quarantine option guideline is as follows:
People who do not develop symptoms may end their quarantine after 7 days if, on day 6 of quarantine or later, a COVID-19 test is obtained
The test must occur no more than 48 hours prior to the end of quarantine
This means that in order for an individual to be released from quarantine after 7 days the earliest the test could occur is on day 6
The individual must remain in quarantine until the negative result is received and 7 full days have passed
On day 8 of quarantine or later, if a negative test result is received and no symptoms are present, quarantine may end
The individual must also monitor symptoms for an additional seven days (14 days total)
If symptoms develop at any time during the 14 day monitoring, one must immediately isolate, contact their health care provider, and get tested
