Ripon Cathedral School Update

Week ending Friday 5th April 2019

What is the best way to travel?

Big picture
This has been Year 2's topic question in the spring term and we are sure their educational visit on Monday must have helped them to come to a final decision. They experienced at least five modes of transport for their visit to York! They walked up to Ripon bus station before taking the Number 36 bus to Harrogate. From there it was the train to York and a visit to the National Railway Museum, followed by a boat cruise on the River Ouse. After such a busy day, they were happy to relax on the coach journey home. We wonder what their final choice was for the best way to travel?

Reading Leaders!

Year 2 are racing ahead with the number of children who have achieved their reading star award. We will have exciting news next week as we have some children who are on the cusp of achieving the highest award of READING LEADERS! Watch this space for more news next week!

Wonderful Welcome Worship by Year 1 and Year 3

On Thursday, Year 1 welcomed parents and carers to their worship. They shared their learning about Rosa Parks, acting out how people can be unfairly treated, before singing a wonderful song.

At the end of the day Year 3 welcomed parents and carers to their worship which included some excellent poetry that they had created around the theme of justice. We were very impressed with their thoughtful ideas and understanding of rules and fairness.

Line Up Promise

I won't shove

I won't push

I won't pass

I won't lag behind the rest

I’ll line up with my class.

We raise our hands to speak

We work quietly at our seats

We use voices soft and sweet

We keep our places nice and neat

We love our school

We love the rules

We love break time to be cool.
