Friendly Reminder of Sub Plans
Since we have had to pull teachers to sub lately, we have had many reports of teachers either not leaving lesson plans OR lesson plans that are not sufficient.
This is one of the BIGGEST reasons substitute teachers say that quit subbing, if they choose not to come back to a school.
It is critical that when you are out, that sufficient sub plans are left for a sub to follow. If our teachers are struggling to follow the plans that are left, just imagine what it is like for a substitute. Insufficient plans set up students for disaster and it is just not respectful or considerate to the person who is covering the class.
We do understand that emergencies happen. That is why we have asked all teachers to leave emergency sub plans in their folders with Erika. If you have not already turned in your emergency plans to Erika, please do that BY FRIDAY.
Emergency Sub Folders Should Include the Following:
-Class Rosters
-DETAILED lesson plans
-Copies for each class of any work to be completed
Admin will go through sub folders this Friday to make sure all plans are present and sufficient.
IF we end up needing to use your Emergency Sub folder one day for plans, you will need to replenish the folder with new plans following that use.
As of right now, 8 teachers have turned in emergency plans.

Conquering the World, Empowerment for Teens
Dear Warrior Families
On Thursday, November 7th, 2017 at 2:00pm, we have a special topic for our families. We will be presenting Conquering the World, Empowerment for Teens, during our November Family University session. Empowerment is often used as a management tool with the goal of having employees take initiative and make decisions to solve problems. This can also be an effective tool for teens to combat challenges or negativity. As a parent, you will be given tips on how you can empower your teen which can help him/her conquer any goals he/she has set for himself/herself. It's also an effective strategy to combat bullies! This presentation is presented by Marsha Litton Baker, Director of Employee Assistance and Community Counseling of Ballad Health. We hope you can join us!
With regards,
Debbie Moore, Family Liaison

Coffee Cart-Feel Good Friday
Feel Good Friday just keeps getting better! Stephen Baker had the awesome idea to start up a coffee cart for the Warrior Academy kiddos and the FA-3 kiddos to run together on Friday mornings. The cost will be $1.00 per cup, and we have creamers and sweeteners as well!
The funds will just replenish the cart from week to week, but the personal interaction and functional skills the kids are going to learn from this will be invaluable! I am looking forward to watching them grow throughout the year and build relationships with you all through this venture!
I have included the Google Sheet that we will use each week to fill orders. There is a cell for your name, classroom number for 1st period assignments, type of drink, and if you need a disposable cup, or if you'll have your own mug for us to make it in!
Thank you all in advance for your support of this fun idea, and to Baker for getting it all together. I love our big Warrior Tribe!
Thanks again!
Baker and Megan
