Explaining Stress
What is Stress?
Stress is a state of emotional strain in which you have emotions flying around uncontrollably. this usually happens in demanding or uncertain circumstances.
Stress is something that everyone will experience in their lifetime. Whether that be during High School, or when they're 40 and have a great job. Currently, the most stressed generation in the U.S. is young adults. So, ranging through senior year of high school to senior year of college, those people are generally the most stressed
Stress
Stress can be hard on everyone. You can always have ways to relieve your stress. Obviously it wont help me saying 'Keep your head up in times of major stress, but it will help to know that it can always get better.
Counseling
Counseling is a great way to help relieve stress. Counseling can do many thing to help:
- Calm you down
- Counselor knows what you are going through, and you may have a connection with them
- the counselor always has ways to help you relieve stress.
Stress Balls
You've heard of stress balls right? Most people never consider them when thinking about stress relieff, but really, they can help relieve a lot of stress, and they're quite cheap. Pros about using a stress ball:
- Cheap (under ten dollars)
- Physical way to relieve stress
Cons of stress balls:
- They can pop, and if they do, it can be messy
- Stress balls aren't always easy to find
DIY Stress Ball:
Materials: (NR= not required)
- 2 Party Balloons (1 is okay, but is messier)
- Flour
- Funnel (NR)
- Scissors
- Water bottle
Steps:
- Stretch the balloon by inflating it, then slowly let the air out.
- Using funnel, fill balloon with flour, stop filling the balloon just below the neck DO NOT FILL THE NECK
- Pour some water into the balloon, making it moist and soggy.
- Tie a knot to stop the flour from getting out of the balloon
- Take another balloon, cut off the neck and stretch around original balloon and will help stop spillage of flour if any holes were to appear
