FOOD FOR THOUGHT: We can't wait to put #impactfirst
When I think about my personality, I know that I can be somewhat disorganized and during my LC level experience I was always afraid of talking to adults or going into an organization to do sales. I'd be lying if I said these parts of me completely disappeared when I became MC. But I know that at the end of the day I want this program to happen so I need to sacrifice those parts of myself that aren't helping me succeed and replace them with traits that will make me successful.
I'm ready to make iGC happen. I'm tired of waiting and I'm ready to sacrifice waiting for doing. So let's make it happen. The US can't wait for us to raise.
FOCUS FOR OCTOBER: Meetings to Raises
Imagine: you head to a meeting wanting to sell the idea of volunteers to an organization but once you get there you realize they can't understand the type of project that would benefit their company and you didn't come prepared with examples so the meeting doesn't go anywhere concrete. Sound Familiar?
Here are some tips to make sure your meetings go somewhere:
- Market research: Do research on the organization itself. See their size and current programs. If they look super small, they probably won't be able to afford our programs
- Start with SpeakUP. The project is currently defined, with a clear JD and EP profile. Look for organizations in your town that may want this and sell there first.
- Look at organizations in terms of their mission and what they are trying to achieve. Think about what potential weaknesses or needs they have and then how AIESEC's exchange programs can be the solution. Do your research! Always go into each meeting with 2-3 ideas for how AIESEC can be used at that organization.
