Week of December 6
Academic AID
Our teachers are preparing for the Accelerated Instruction Days in January. Any ROE student in current grades 4-5 who Did Not Meet standards on the state assessments (STAAR) last year will be required to attend the Academic Accelerated Instruction Days (AID) from Tuesday, January 4 through Friday, January 7. During Academic AID, students will receive intense, targeted academic intervention in the specific area they need to prepare them to pass the spring tests!
Additional Academic AID Information:
• Letters have already been sent home to parents of students who will be required to attend.
• You can review your students STAAR results online at – www.texasassessment.gov
o Use your child’s access code, or First name and SSN or S-Number to access their results
• Students in PreK through 3rd grade who did not test last year DO NOT attend school Jan. 4-7. They will return from winter break on Monday, January 10.
• Students in 4th and 5th grades who passed all tests required with either Approaches, Meets, or Masters results DO NOT attend school Jan. 4-7. They will return from winter break on Monday, January 10.
• For those required to attend, buses will run normal routes, breakfast and lunch will be available.

Polar Express Day

Dress Menu!
- Outer coats/jackets may be any color but must be removed upon entering the building.
- Sweaters, vests, zip and pullover hoodies, and sweatshirts are permitted only in standardized dress policy colors. They may be worn in the building but may not extend below the bottom of the back pocket.
- Red Oak logos and Red Oak artwork are allowed on zip-up and pullover hoodies.
- Labels are permitted on coats, jackets, sweaters, and sweatshirts but must be no larger than 1½ inches by 1½ inches.
- Jackets must have a closing mechanism (full-length zipper, buttons, or snaps).

Important Announcements
- School hours are 7:25-3:00. If you are dropping your child off after 7:25, please park in the front parking lot and sign your child in at the front office. If you are arriving after 3:30pm for pickup, please park in the front parking lot and walk to the office with your car tag.
- Transportation changes need to go through the office. Please call 972-617-3523 before 2:30 pm for any transportation changes.
- If you call or email your child's teacher, they will respond within 24 hours as our focus during the day is your students.
- Please check your child's grades through Skyward regularly. If you would like assistance on how to receive alerts about your child's grades, please call the office and we would be happy to assist.

We encourage all students to wear masks in order to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus and help prevent potential exposure. Please screen your students for the symptoms listed below. If any of these symptoms are present, please keep your student at home and contact the school for further instructions:
- Chills or feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0o F
- Loss of taste or smell
- Cough
- Difficulty breathing
- Shortness of breath
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Diarrhea
- Nausea or vomiting
