Letters of Recommendation

If you need a letter of recommendation for the colleges you are applying to, fill out the Letter of Recommendation Packet and make an appointment with your counselor. To make an appointment, log onto MyConnect➔ Counseling class ➔ Seniors ➔ Letters of Recommendation. Once on this page, click on the name of your counselor.

Deadlines to request a letter of recommendation from your Counselor:

September 23th – October 11th – Early Decision and Early Action appointments

October 14th – November 22nd – Regular Decision appointments

If you are planning on asking someone other than your counselor (teacher, coach, etc.) for a letter of recommendation, be sure to fill out the Alternative Recommender Notification form.

If you need to request official transcripts for your college applications, complete and turn in the Permission to Release School Record Information form to your counselor in order to have your transcripts sent. (If you need a letter of recommendation this form will be part of the Recommendation Packet.)

After adding all colleges to your list in Naviance, you can request transcripts in the "Colleges I’m Applying To" screen by clicking + REQUEST TRANSCRIPTS. Any time you add a transcript request, please notify your counselor for there is no auto notification feature within Naviance.

Do not request transcripts for UC’s and CSU’s unless specifically requested by them. Most UC’s and CSU’s do not need an initial transcript but it’s recommended you check each campus individually to determine if you need to send a transcript.
