New Lebanon School
Weekly Updates
¿Necesita leer nuestro boletín en español?
Hello Bobcat Families! Thank you to all of our families who attended a parent-teacher conference over the past two weeks - we were incredibly grateful to have a second conference this year, and we look forward to continuing this practice for years to come! Our partnership with families is at the core of our work as learners and educators.
Bus Loop, Tardies, and Parking Spaces
You might have noticed Mrs. Michaelson and Mrs. Eisenstein in the parking lot and bus loop area in the morning directing traffic. We find when we are out there, traffic patterns run much more smoothly! That being said, we are asking you to follow these simple rules all of the time, even when you might not see us:
- Please arrive at 8:00. At 8:15 instruction has already begun!
- Please do not drive into the bus loop during arrival and dismissal.
- Please only park in parking spots.
- Please do not park in the crosswalks.
- Please leave handicapped spots for those with an issued handicapped sticker.
- Please use the drop off lane! We have two or more teachers out there every day to help get your children out of the car. That's what I call VIP service!
- Please be patient and courteous to others - we are all in this together!
Magnet Theme Updates
After hearing feedback from New Lebanon School faculty & staff, parents & families, we will be taking another year to continue as an IB school while exploring AVID and any other pertinent magnet themes that teachers and families are interested in investigating. This will allow us more time to make the best and most informed decision. We look forward to more parent education groups, so that parents feel like they have all of the information they need and have all of their questions answered.

Family Members who are COVID Testing
As a reminder, GPS is asking that students stay home if a member of their immediate family is being tested due to exposure or symptoms. It will limit teachers and students from possible exposures, causing individuals to be quarantined. Quarantining is a great safety measure, but it can be disruptive for staff and families. We understand we have many families who regularly test as a proactive measure; staying home while awaiting results of proactive, regular testing is not necessary.
Free COVID-19 Testing
If you or your child are symptomatic, we recommend getting tested as soon as possible. But if there are no symptoms, waiting 3-5 days from the possible exposure will give you the most accurate test results. Family Centers Health Care offers free COVID-19 testing at their Greenwich and Stamford locations. Details about their hours of operation and appointments can be found on their website. To find all test sites in your area, please visit United Way’s 2-1-1 website.
Together in Safety and Learning,
Mrs. Michaelson & Mrs. Eisenstein
