WELCOME TO OUR NEWSLETTER

Welcome to the "Big Fish" Newsletter! We are incredibly excited to share this story with all of you. The students have been working hard and creating something magical.


This week's newsletter is long. Please take time to read it in its' entirety. There is critical information in this newsletter for you.


We hope this communication helps streamline the process for all parents and students as we know it takes a village to put on productions here at RRPA. We kindly thank you in advance for all you do to support theatre arts here at RRHS.

CRITICAL 1 MINUTE VIDEO

In lieu of a Mandatory Parent Meeting, we created a 1 minute and 15 second video that has all of the information we usually present at our 60 minute parent meeting. It is the expectation that all parents and students watch this video and pause for reading if necessary. COVID-19 UPDATE - PRODUCTION DATES

Please follow all LCPS Policies regarding any potential school closures regarding rehearsals and performances.


The RRPA Production Team is working closely with Administration to determine a plan of action should schools be canceled, after school activities limited, or crowd control procedures implemented.


PLAN A: Should schools close for a period of 4 - 5 days, depending on the timing of the closure then the production will continue as scheduled.


PLAN B: Should schools close for a period of 5 - 9 days then we may delay opening by one weekend with production dates set as May 1st, 2nd, 8th, & 9th. April 24th and 25th ticket dates will be reimbursed.


PLAN C: Should schools close for 9+ days, than we may delay opening to an undetermined date depending on school calendar. Summer is also a possibility. All tickets will be reimbursed.


We thank you for being flexible with us through this difficult and challenging time. Your health and safety are our upmost priority.

FLOWER SALES OR DONATION CAMPAIGN DUE MARCH 27TH

As a reminder, your production fees only cover 1/3 of the costs to put a production here at RRPA. Fundraising and Ticket Sales cover the rest. All students involved in the program either need to opt-out of the fundraising or participate by selling ads or finding donors that total at least $75.


You have the ability to participate in one of two ways with Fundraising:


1. FLOWER SALES - You can choose to sell 3 flats of flowers, or purchase them for your home. They are beautiful and easy to sell! Especially if you have landscaping that needs to be done. Flowers are sold online here: https://www.rockridgeperformingarts.org/store/c20/Flowers.html


OR


2. SECURE A NEW DONOR or ADVERTISER - For information regarding our Sponsors and Donors please visit our sponsors page at www.rockridgeperformingarts.org

3. Opt-Out of both fundraisers by paying the opt-out fee of $75 through the registration portal.

SPIRIT WEAR DUE MARCH 27TH

Don't have RRPA Spirit Wear? Want new Spirit Wear? We've relaunched our store! The store will remain open until March 28th! Check it out, and get some new gear for the spring and summer!

DOOR - TO - DOOR CAMPAIGN - MARCH 28TH

Currently, our door to door campaign is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Raising nearly $100 for every student that participates. Our Door - to - Door is scheduled for March 28th. All students are required to participate in this fundraiser. This year, students will use an App to track donations, send automatic donation letters, and collect additional online money.


We need drivers! If you are interested in doing one of your volunteer slots early, look out for our Sign-Up Genius in next week's newsletter. We will need about 20 drivers.


COVID-19 UPDATE: Should our Door-To-Door campaign be canceled due to LCPS Policy then our make-up date will be April 18th.

SPIRIT BUTTONS - DUE APRIL 5TH

RRPA is excited to offer spirit buttons for BIG FISH featuring your child! We began offering spirit buttons this year for all our shows and they have been a big hit with the parents. Spirit buttons are a great way to show your pride in your child and make a wonderful keepsake from their RRPA production. Photos will be taken during the Costume Parade. The spirit buttons will be available at Opening Night! If you have any questions please email Katie McDaniel at rrpabackofhouse@gmail.com

TECH WEEK MEALS - DUE APRIL 5TH

To order your tech week meals, please go back inside the Registration Portal and add them to the cart. All tech week meal orders are due by April 5th. If you do not want to participate in tech week meals, you may bring your own or drop it off in the main office. Meals are served promptly at 4pm. We offer two options:


4 Week Meal Option either Regular or Vegetarian:

9 Week Meal Option either Regular or Vegetarian:

HOW TO READ THE CALENDAR

Our rehearsal calendar is located on our website. You can also click the button below to access our calendar. We know this calendar is very full and can sometimes be confusing. Here is what to look for:


2. Open the rehearsal and look at the information.

3. Look for either your name, or your ensemble's name.

4. If it reads "Entire Cast" or "Entire Company" that is you!

5. Please arrive no later than 5 minutes before each rehearsal.
