Dear Rocket Families,

I hope you are enjoying the long weekend! As a reminder, tomorrow, Monday, February 20, is an Optional Workday for staff. There is NO SCHOOL for STUDENTS.

Last week was a lot of fun at Rutherfordton Elementary as we celebrated Kindness Week and our Bus Drivers. Our students were challenged to do random acts of KINDNESS all week long and many of them were nominated by their teachers and peers!

KINDERPALOOZA is this Tuesday, February 21. This is a fun event put on by Rutherford County Schools to get rising kindergarteners excited about starting school. Kinderpalooza will be from 4:00-7:00 at the Foundation at Isothermal Community College. Please help us spread the word!

It is hard to believe, but we are down to our last 12 weeks or school for this year! Since our last day of school is the Friday before the Memorial Day weekend we wanted to share several important dates so you can ensure you plan accordingly.

End-Of-Grade Testing for Grades 3-5 - May 15 - 26
Field and Water Day - May 24
5th Grade Promotion Program and Ceremony - May 25
Kindergarten Promotion Program and Ceremony - May 26
Last Day of School - May 26

We will be celebrating Read Across America Week February 27 - March 3. Please see the flyer below to get a jump start on planning for our spirit dress up days!
