The Inventor
George Washington Gale Ferris Jr. was the original inventor, creator, and designer or the ferris wheel. George graduated for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institue, and was an engineer. Mr Ferris was born in 1859, and died in 1896, at the age of 37, from typhoid fever.
The Invention.
The first ferris wheel ever was constructed for the World's Columbian Exposition is Chicago, in 1893. It cost $600,000 to build. There were 21 cars, and each car was 24 feet long, 13 feet wide and 10 feet tall.
