CCMS Tardy Policy
Starting on Monday, February 20, we will be implementing a new tardy procedure on campus. Students have 4 minutes between periods to get to their next class. Teachers will close their door at the second bell and will not allow students into the classroom. Students will need to check in either at the front office or at the tardy table in their hallway to get a pass. Unexcused tardies include students who are dropped off in the car line after 8:06 without a parent escort or note. Students will not be penalized if their bus is delayed. The consequences for unexcused tardies are listed below.
Unexcused Tardy Consequences:
1st tardy – warning
2nd tardy – warning
3rd tardy – warning
4th tardy – detention referral w/ lunch detention
5th tardy – detention referral w/ after school detention
6th tardy – detention referral w/ Saturday detention
7 or more tardies – defiance referral(s) w/OSS

Accessing & Interpreting Your Student's FAST Scores
Dear Coyote Families,
The state’s second FAST Progress-Monitoring (PM) window is currently open, and a majority of students have already taken their assessment in either ELA and/or Math. Your child’s teacher uses the results of the assessment to measure general achievement in reading and/or math, and to determine your child’s learning needs.
It is important to understand that these test scores provide only one picture of how your child is doing in school. At the beginning of the year, students were certainly not expected to demonstrate mastery of grade-level skills. At the mid-year point, students should be demonstrating growth from their beginning of the school year assessment period. Students are taught skills throughout the year and should move towards mastery as the school year progresses.
If your child has already taken FAST PM2, the scores are loaded into the Pasco Parent Portal and can be viewed by clicking the FAST icon. Additional directions for accessing these scores, as well as additional information regarding FAST testing and interpreting the scores, can be found by going to the Pasco Schools website. From there, click on Departments and then, Accountability, Research, and Measurement. In the center of the page and in the right navigation pane, you will see information regarding the FAST test.
If you have any additional questions regarding your student’s score, please reach out to your child’s ELA or Math teacher.
Sincerely,
Tim Light
