The Weekly Hoot

August 5 - 11, 2013

Greetings All -

It's Sunday night, and my first official "full" work week begins tomorrow! All of my vacation days have been taken, which is sort of sad, but I can't complain too much because I had an excellent summer. I hope each of you are going to soak up as much fun as you can before the 14th. You all certainly deserve it!

We had a lot of fun and learned so much this past week at TIF camp. We will be discussing it all with you during inservice. It is so nice that the focus of everything this year will be on great teaching and you all will be getting rewarded for it in the end!

Please remember if you can to come up to school this Wednesday to help decorate the common areas in the school. Hopefully some of the stuff that we have ordered for our Character Education program will be in, but if not, we can plan on where we will put these things as well as utilize some of the bulletin board stuff we already have. I also want to get some new pictures printed out of current students and get them up on the walls as well.

I hope all of you can try and make the BBQ on Friday night. I will be texting you the address and emailing directions later this week. I am looking forward to seeing each of you.

It is going to be a busy week with New Teacher Inservice, workday on Wednesday, CPI training for several of us on Thursday and Friday, and the BBQ that night. I guess you could say it's time to get started again.

Enjoy your last full week of summer!

Soaring with you this year,

my new administrative assistant, Jennifer Corzine, for holding down the fort while I was in San Marcos all week! She is doing an amazing job!

Quote of the Week...

"summer, after all, is a time when wonderful things can happen to quiet people. for those few months, you’re not required to be who everyone thinks you are, and that cut-grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of a pool give you a courage you don’t have the rest of the year. you can be grateful and easy, with no eyes on you, and no past. summer just opens the door and lets you out.” - Deb Caletti
