News from New Haven
March 2021
Moving into 4 In-person days
That said, we have started a waiting list for parents who want to move to in-person. We understand and are compassionate to the different needs of families. We are trying to accommodate as much as we can as long as it does not put our in person classrooms over cap. (Meaning over the teacher / student ratio recommended by the state). However, I will continue to put safety & productive instruction first.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2021-2022 school year
New Haven 2021-2022 Kindergarten registration link
Depending on need, there will be additional times organized. If you are unable to attend this registration kick off please call our office at 859-384-5325 and we will take down your information to set up an appointment.
When coming to the registration evening we will provide all copies of forms for you to complete, as well as, give you information for the following year. We ask that you bring your child's birth certificate, current immunization (if you have it- if not- don't worry for now), as well as, a current utility bill showing your name and address.
All registrations fully completed will receive priority for classroom placements.
Steeplechase Elementary will have a separate date for kindergarten registration for families. This will be announced once a location is selected.

Steeplechase Elementary
Link for the boundaries map: Steeplechase Elementary I realize that the map is not the greatest resolution, so if you have any specific questions you can call the school and we will try to assist you. Mrs. Resing has set up Steeplechase's Twitter account that she will be using to share information and events. Twitter handle : @steeplechaseEL Once the school webpage is set up I will also share that with you.
I will try to continue to provide as much information as I can initially to help establish a communication connection, but if you have specific questions you can reach her at : lisa.resing@boone.kyschools.us
Because of the way we must proceed with in-person kindergarten registration, and because Mrs. Resing will be involved with Florence elementary' s registration; Steeplechase Elementary will have a separate date for kindergarten registration so that she can be apart of it. I will help push that information out once it is organized.

Not that this year hasn't already taken enough, but this is the 1st year that we have not had the Me and My Guy dance or the Mom's and Boy's Dodgeball event. We can't replace those events, but the PTA has creatively come up with a Family Trivia night that gives back to our community. New Haven has always had a strong tradition of community and involvement. We pull together during hard times and celebrate the good times. This year's PTA board want to give back to our community and say THANK YOU for always contributing to the success of our events and supporting our kids.
The message below is from our board.
New Haven Family Trivia Night
Hosted by New Haven PTA
Due to Covid protocols, the PTA wasn't able to host the Father Daughter Dance or the Mother Son Dodgeball Game. We know everyone looks forward to these events as much as we do and we can't replace them, but we are having an exciting Family Trivia Night for all our families.
Family Trivia Night Forms will be coming home with your student the week of March 8th. An electronic form will also be available. Each family can complete one trivia form and submit electronically or return the form to school. Each completed family form is entered into a drawing. The PTA has 60 amazing gift baskets valued at approximately $100 each. Winners will be drawn from the completed forms. There is no cost to enter this event.
This contest is a way for the New Haven PTA to say thank you to all our families for always supporting the work the PTA does on behalf of our school.
A PTA meeting is scheduled on March 10th @ 7:00. The link for the meeting will be sent out through the e-blast I believe. The board will be specifically discussing the benefits of transitioning over to a Parent / Teacher Organization. There will be a representative from the state PTA talking on their behalf.
