- SUMMER ELA HOMEWORK -
Rising 7th Graders' ELA Summer Homework
Each student completed a survey and was given their selected novel & packet by Ms. Lauren during the last week of school. If you misplace your packet, you may download and print from this folder. This summer reading homework is designed to take approximately 2 hours a week, for a total of 20 hours total. Students will return their novel and completed packet on the first day of 7th grade to their ELA teacher. This work will be scored as your first graded assignment!
Rising 8th Graders' & *New Students'* ELA Summer Homework
Students are given the flexibility to select their own novel to read over the summer. Book requirements:
- Chapter Book (no graphic novels, magazines, short stories)
- Lexile Level Appropriate (within 75-100 points of your current level)
- 100+ pages
Ms. Ceci gave each student their summer reading packet in History during the last week of school. If you misplace your packet, you may download and print it from this link. Students will return their completed packet on the first day of school to their ELA teacher. This work will be scored as your first graded assignment! This summer reading homework is designed to take approximately 2 hours a week, for a total of 20 hours total.
7th & 8th Grade Summer Reading Program
Inside your binder:
Reading: You must read for 30 minutes, 5 days a week using the 3 books GALS lends to you
Vocabulary: write the definition and an example sentence for 5 vocabulary words each day
New vocabulary: write the definition and an example sentence for new words you don’t know from the reading
Book report: write a book report on character details, plot, setting, theme, and summary after you finish each book
Students will return their 3 GALS novels & completed binders to their ELA teacher on the first day of school for a grade.

During the last week of school, all 6th grade students were provided instructions for their summer math homework in Kahn Academy.

Rising 8th Graders' Math Summer Homework
During the last week of school, all 7th grade students were provided instructions for their summer math homework in Kahn Academy. Watch the video tutorial below for setting up your Kahn account. This summer math homework is designed to take approximately 2 hours a week, for a total of 20 hours. Mr. Daniel, your 8th grade math teacher will assign a grade to the work you complete based on the number of hours spend in Kahn Academy, not the number of lessons completed. Depending on the individual students' work pacing, they may not complete all assignments posted.
