Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 22nd September 2017
Holy Island Explorers
We have very much enjoyed receiving regular updates on our Year 5 class who are exploring Holy Island this week. They set off early on Wednesday, visiting Bamburgh and the Grace Darling Museum on their way to catch the low tide for their crossing to Lindisfarne. They have stayed in a hostel and enjoyed all the island has to offer, including Lindisfarne Castle, Priory and Centre. They visited St Cuthbert's Beach and found mini-beasts in the rock pools. Did you all know that St Cuthbert's Close next to school was named by our pupils after the monk they learn about during Year 5?
Other adventures include a boat trip to the Farne Islands and a night walk. We are looking forward to finding out which their favourite part of the trip has been when they return later this evening.
