Song Two
Rusty Cage: This is a song by Johnny Cash. It can represent when Ponyboy and Johnny are running away. The lyrics for this are; "I'm gonna break, I'm gonna break my, I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run." This represents that part in the movie because Ponyboy and Johnny are running from the law.
Song Three
I Need a Hero: This song was by Bonnie Tyler and it relates to the story because Ponyboy and Johnny are heroes when they save the kids from the burning church. This song nicely suits this part because of the lyrics "I need a hero".
Song Four
Beat It: This song by Michael Jackson represents the rumble because it doesn't matter about which side is right. In the song the lyrics are similar, "It doen't matter who's wrong or right, just beat it, just beat it."
Song Five
You Got a Friend in Me: This song by Randy Newman relates to pretty much whenever Johnny and Ponyboy are together, namely while they're running away because it symbolizes friendship between him and Ponyboy. The lyrics that help represent these points in the book; " 'Cause you've got a friend in me, you've got a friend in me."
