A message from the principal
Oxbow Creek Families,
The leaves are changing and filling our world with beautiful, vibrant colors. Fall is a great time to enjoy long walks, bike rides or drives and marvel in the beauty around us. Sometimes life moves so quickly, it's hard to pause and allow ourselves to enjoy the small things. This season is a perfect opportunity to focus on finding joy in the simple things. It's easy to celebrate the big wins. We all cheer at the goal made or the big save, crossing the finish line or a high score on a test. Finding joy in the small things is just as important. This fall, I'm working on finding joy in the small things. I'm focusing on laughing more, enjoying the fall colors as I drive to school, conversations I have with my daughter as we drive to activities or simply reading a good book. What small things can your family celebrate, enjoy or acknowledge more?
"Enjoy the little things in life because one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things.” – Robert Brault.

Items to Note
- Do not leave your car unattended if you're in the pickup lane at dismissal. If you plan to leave your car to meet your child, please park in the lot. Students should always remain on the sidewalk areas while waiting for parents to pick them up.
- Picking up your student early? Please remember to call and notify the office of what time you will be here to pick your student up and also email your students teacher with that information. Our sign out procedure is the same as last year. You will come into the vestibule, where we will scan your drivers license and then send your student out to you.
- Dropping off items students forgot to bring? We will email the teacher, but will not call into the room during instruction time. If an item is for lunch or for winter recess, we will attempt to get those to the class if they are not picked up in a timely manner.
Verification Info
Complete back to school verification, now please.
We have started the 2022-23 school year, and we see you have not had the opportunity to complete the online back to school verification. It’s important that each family completes the verification every year. Verification ensures that Anoka-Hennepin Schools has confirmed contact information for each student to ensure schools have access to emergency contact information and information releases for the safety of students.
Please complete this ASAP. Even if families’ contact information has not changed, it’s important to log in to access a variety of other student information in the coming weeks, including class schedules and teacher assignments, attendance, school handbooks, progress reports and grades for middle and high school students. High school students will not be able to enroll in fall activities until the back to school form process is complete.
New this year, free school meals will no longer be available to all students. By logging in to complete student verification for the upcoming school year, families may also apply to receive free and reduced priced meals after completing the verification process.
Login to A-HConnect to complete back to school forms for the upcoming school year.
Click here for more detailed information.
Parents/guardians can access back to school forms by clicking the lock icon and “Login” at the top right corner of any district or school website.
Then, select, "My Student Information,"
Then, select, "Online Registration,"
Then, select, "22-23 Back to School Verification."
If you need help finding your login/password, call 763-506-HELP for assistance.
Crosswalk Safety
Motorists and student pedestrians alike are reminded to remain alert in the school zone along 109th Avenue and around schools in our community to ensure safety for crossing guards and the people they serve to protect. A recent accident with a crossing guard is prompting this reminder from the Anoka-Hennepin transportation department. Please review and follow these reminders:
Crosswalks: Be mindful that we are sharing the road with young walkers and staff helping them across the crosswalks or intersections. Always stop for school patrols and crossing guards.
Know drop-off and pick-up procedures: Schools have procedures in place to keep traffic safe. Make sure you know your school’s plan for the safety of all students and staff.
Use slow speeds: Use caution in school zones and be aware of your surroundings. We can all work together to ensure the safety of drivers, school buses, walkers and bikers.
School bus safety: Familiarize yourself with school bus safety tips on the road. Always stop if yellow or red lights are flashing or if stop arms are extended from a school bus. Allow extra time for students to board and exit the bus and proceed to safe sidewalks to enter school zones or return home.
Share the road: Be patient of other vehicles stopped for pedestrians or using caution in school zones. Do not pass other vehicles or school buses. Be alert, young children may take an unpredictable path as they are learning safety rules.
Thank you for your partnership in school traffic safety.
