ADMINISTRATION'S MESSAGE
Hello SHS Families,
We hope this update finds you all enjoying your summer break. We've been busy preparing for the upcoming 2022- 2023 school year; classrooms have been cleaned, new faculty members are being welcomed, new student orientations are happening, athletic teams are beginning to prepare for the year, new programs and projects are all moving forward.
Please find below, important information to help you prepare for this upcoming school year.

For ALL incoming 9th grade students and any other students new to Suffield High School.
Parents/Guardians are also encouraged to attend.
Learn important information to prepare you for the upcoming school year and get your questions answered as you meet the administrators, school counselors, class advisors and some upperclassmen. You'll tour the school following your class schedule and attend an activities fair with all the clubs and sports teams represented. The booster club will also be selling SHS merchandise. Student ID photos will be taken, so dress appropriately. For more details click here.
STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS
Student Chromebooks will be distributed during Wildcat Advisory on the first day of school.
MANDATORY STUDENT INFORMATION UPDATE
All families must update their information in the Parent Portal by August 26th.
This includes:
● Student demographic information updates
● Student medical information
● Acceptable use (technology) sign-off
● Student handbook sign-off
● Chromebook insurance
● Parental permission on photographs
● Transportation plan

STUDENT SCHEDULES
The school counselors are currently working on making adjustments to student schedules and will continue to do so until the end of the Add/Drop period which ends Wednesday, September 7, 2022. If you have any questions or concerns, email your school counselor.
FREE Breakfast and Lunch
At the start of the school year breakfast and lunch is FREE to all students. Information about when/how this will change will be communicated by administration. To purchase a second breakfast or lunch the prices are $2.10 for breakfast and $3.25-$3.50 for lunch. Menus will be shared soon. To set up or add money to your account click here.
STUDENT ID CARDS & PHOTOS
Student ID cards will be distributed during Wildcat Advisory as soon as they're available. Any student who needs a photo taken for their student ID will be able to do so September 6th, 2022.
School photo day is scheduled for Tuesday, October 11, 2022. More info coming soon.
SENIOR YEARBOOK PHOTOS
Information will be sent to all 12th grade students regarding photographs for the yearbook. The submission portal will be opened around September 8th.
SENIOR PRIVILEGES
No Senior Privileges will be allowed the first week of school. 12th grade students interested in applying for Senior Privileges must click here to complete the form which includes parent permission sign-off and community service documentation. This form must be submitted to the main office for review. Students approved for Senior Privileges will receive an email confirmation, which will include the student's start date.
PARKING PERMITS
Any student interested in a parking permit sticker must complete the Google form online (click here) and go to the main office to pick up your sticker.
OPEN HOUSE - Save the date!
The SHS Open House for parents/guardians is scheduled for Thursday, September 15, 2022, 6:00 to 8:00 PM. More details will be shared in the upcoming weeks.
