FINANCIAL AID
New state mandate requires all California students to apply for either the FAFSA or Dream this year!
FAFSA
Anyone planning to attend 2/4 yr college or trade school next year needs to submit. You may be eligible for merit university aid or community college promise programs. FAFSA must be filled out to qualify for CalGrants.
Students must have SSN to apply. Applications open October 1 - March 2.
California Dream Act
Applications open Oct 1 - March 2.
Loan vs Grant
Money you borrow with the expectation that you will pay it back (with interest) within a deadline laid out by your lender.
Students can borrow money through the federal government when applying for FAFSA or private students loans through non-government entities like banks.
What's a grant?
Gift aid awarded to students often based on financial need. They typically come from the state government, federal government, non-profit organization, and universities.
Scholarships
Seniors are encouraged to apply for scholarships throughout the year. It does take time, but that time can pay off in the end. Counselors email local local Tustin community scholarship opportunities often...so check your emails regularly.
Don't worry...we got you! We will support you through your application process!
