Davis A&M Family Newsletter

Principal's Message
Davis Students & Families,
We have had a strong start to the second semester. We are halfway through February, and have been celebrating BLACK HISTORY MONTH at the school. Thanks to all the parents who attended the Soul Food night last week. It was wonderful to spend time with families, eating together, and enjoying the open mic performances of our talented Davis scholars. Here is the calendar for upcoming BHM events at the school.
10th grade families, your children are taking the English OST when we return from Spring Break. Between now and then, students will be doing various review activities in their classes, including timed writing. One of the most difficult aspects of the exam is the writing portion. Please ask your child about the practice OST they took a couple weeks ago, and encourage them to focus and take seriously the upcoming writing practice activities in their classes. A few extra points on the easy can do wonders for their score!
If you have questions about any of the announcements below, please call the school at 216.838.2500

School Hours Reminder
The Davis A&M School day is from 8:15AM to 3:15PM.
Students who arrive at 8:16AM and later are considered tardy and will receive an automated call home from the District Office.
Benefits for students arriving to school on time include:
- Staying on top of their schoolwork and not falling behind and getting overwhelmed by missing work.
- They have time to eat breakfast and greet friends BEFORE class to reduce the possibility of disruptions during class.
- They learn the importance of routines and commitment in setting them up for success.
