Hearts Up to our Staff!
Dear Families:
I need your help with a project. This year, we have over 400 families and over 600 students at our school. If you haven't already, please do two things by Monday, April 14th:
- Write a Thank You Note for our Custodial Team: Our amazing custodial team completed a full deep clean of our entire school. Please use the following form to submit your thank you messages, pictures and video: https://forms.gle/cH3gMb2DpgkkeK488. Mr. "Chuck" Fitzgerald, Ms. Gonder, Ms. Leister, Ms. Langenfelder and Ms. Liu will automatically receive your messages on form submission. Let's show them some love!
- Write a Supportive Message to our Staff: It's time to rally and encourage our staff as they begin this new chapter in online education! You may submit more the form as many times as you wish. All supportive messages, pictures and videos will be provided to the entire staff at a password protected page on the PTA's website. Please use the following form to submit your supportive messages, pictures and videos: https://forms.gle/y1YgL7YDRsroBPBy7. I will send staff the link and password on Thursday, April 16th.
I'm also sending a personal Hearts Up to Mrs. Bialeski, Mr. West, Mrs. Shoemaker, Mrs. Follmer, Mrs. Sexton, Mrs. Morris, Mrs. Cunningham, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. George and Mrs. Witt:
- Morning Announcements: It hasn't been since our eldest (14 year old now) watched the "Sunny Side Up Show" on Sprout that I've enjoyed morning announcements the way Mrs. Bialeski and Mr West do it. Side-splitting jokes combined with a weather forecast and birthday celebrations. We are so lucky to start our days with them.
- Live! Bushy Park Bakes: If you didn't get a chance to bake with Mrs. Shoemaker, no worries! We recorded them for posterity. Mrs. Shoemaker: Thank you so much for bringing the joy of baking to our kids. All recordings are available on our Website and Facebook.
- Live! Family BINGO: Thank you to Mrs. Sexton and Mrs. Follmer for bringing joy to our kids (and adults) with our Tuesday night games.
- Spring Book Fair: Thank you to Mrs. Morris and Mrs. Cunningham for coordinating our first exclusively online book fair. If you haven't already, please place your orders by Sunday, April 12th.
- School Supply Kits: Thank you to Mrs. Clark for coordinating our School Supply Kits program. If you haven't already, please place your orders by Friday, April 17th.
- Yearbooks: Mrs. George and Mrs. Witt have been collaborating all year to create this keepsake. Thank you both for your dedication and creativity.
As the gatekeeper for the Grade-Level Meet-ups, I wanted to send a Hearts Up to all who've participated. From Pre-K to 5th, the kids have shared songs, waves, drawings, LEGO creations, pets, siblings and Roblox usernames. Please find meet-up details for today's grade-level meet-ups below. If you have joined our MemberHub you will also receive a reminder email one hour before each meet-up. Our grade-level meet-ups will conclude on Thursday, April 16th. Once distance learning has begun, we will revaluate this series.
Please stay connected with the PTA on Facebook, MemberHub and our Website.
On behalf of our leadership team, we wish you all good health and patience.
Best Regards,
Randee

Community Action Council of Howard County
As the designated anti-poverty organization in Howard County, the Community Action Council of Howard County is the āgo toā organization for our most vulnerable community members.
Donations: They are already seeing an increased demand for services, particularly at the Howard County Food Bank. They will be delivering a one-week supply to more than 320 Head Start families. This would not be possible without the generosity of our community. To ensure the health and safety of our clients and staff, they ask that those interested in supporting their programs donate online, rather than bringing food or funds directly to their office or to the Howard County Food Bank.
Bushy Park Family Food Need Fund
In response food assistance requests, the PTA created the Bushy Park Food Need Fund. These funds will be used to directly and confidentially help our Bushy Park Family who've expressed a need for food assistance. To date, we have collected a total of $855 ($755 from families and $100 from People Who Need People (PWNP)) and dispersed $200.
If your family is in need of food, please email me confidentially at bpesptapres@gmail.com. We are in this together and will be supporting our community.
