Level 1 Fiction Workshop

8 Wednesdays, February 5, 2014-March 26, 2014


This class is intended for short story writers who are ready to give and receive feedback on their work in a respectful and constructive environment and who wish to further develop their understanding of the fundamentals of fiction. Topics covered include: story structure, strategies for revision, and how to experiment with breaking the rules of fiction. In addition to giving feedback on student stories, we will discuss published stories and work on short assignments. This course is suitable for returning students, and those who have some experience writing stories. No previous workshop experience is necessary. Space is limited. Adults only, please.

COST: $350, includes a coursepack of readings

About Danielle

Danielle is a New York native and an Inwood resident. She started Iceberg Writing in order to draw all of the secret writers out of the woodwork of Northern Manhattan. Danielle's short stories have appeared in Glimmer Train, The Boston Review, Five Chapters, and Michigan Quarterly Review. She holds an MFA from the University of Michigan and a BA in Creative Writing from Oberlin College. Her work has won numerous awards, including multiple NOMAA Awards, Glimmer Train's Family Matters Contest, and Hopwood Awards. More about Danielle and her work can be found on her website.
