Distracted driving is not just some little thing thats okay to do. Its one of the worst things you can do when you drive. You risk your life and possibly someone else’s life each time you do something distracting while driving. There are many things that are considered distracted driving that you wouldn't think to be. It includes, texting, talking on the phone, browsing the internet/apps, eating and/or drinking, talking/engaging with passengers, grooming, reading (including maps), Adjusting GPS, radio or music. Don’t ever do these things because, “each time you take your focus off the road, even if just for a split second, you’re putting your life and the lives of others in danger.” Teddi Dineley Johnson says. You may think that you can multitask, but that's a big fat lie! You can’t multitask while driving. Don’t try it because it could cost yours and someone elses life. It’s not worth the risk. Make sure to always wear your seat belts while driving because they save lives everyday. “Seat belts reduce serious crash-related injuries and deaths by about half.” It says in the article “Injury Prevention & Control: Motor Vehicle Safety”. Seat belts could save your life.
Negative and Positive Effects
Positive: If we stop Distracted Driving, more people would still be here today on the Earth. We wouldn’t be depressed knowing that someone was driving while trying to do something else and ended up killing a loved one, or knowing that our loved ones were killed because they were the distracted ones. Or, even worse, knowing that one that we loves, killed someone because they were distracted while driving.
