The Weekly Hoot
November 17 - December 3, 2017
Greetings All -
Since we were changing out the decorations in the school, I decided to go ahead and change the Hoot decorations as well! I know....I know.... jumping the gun, but oh well!
Speaking of Christmas...if you would like for me to come and read to your class during the weeks between Thanksgiving break and Christmas break, please set something up with me! I love doing it every year and want to continue when it is convenient for you.
Here is hoping that everyone has a great week off and a wonderful week back! We have had a few crazy, trying weeks, but I am glad when things get hard around here, we can lean on each other. I hope all of you over this Thanksgiving break take time to be thankful for the wonderful co-workers that we all have. I couldn't ask for a better group of people to spend my days with. Happy Thanksgiving and let the Christmas festivities begin!!!
Edit: I wrote the Hoot this morning and was waiting to send it out. I am so glad that I did. Today I had the opportunity to walk with a young girl at our school at Turkey Trot. She had handed out coffee stirrers to the 2nd and 3rd graders and then walked with her younger siblings in PK and 1st grade. She was called back up to the front office over the radio so I told her she could just ride with me back up to the school in my car. I never expected the reaction I got from her. She excitedly said, "You are going to let me ride in your CAR? I never get to ride on anything but a bus!" I asked her if her family owned a car, and she said yes, but the only time she rode in it was when she rode with her mom to take her dad to work and that it was usually 5 in the morning and she was sleeping. This story pretty much stopped me in my tracks. I, along with all of us, gripe on a daily basis about different things. How busy I am, the traffic at school, all of the nighttime activities, grades to get in, how much something costs, etc... I am truly going to work on stop doing that. How petty of me to be upset about those things! From this day forward I am going to be working on being grateful and thankful for what I do have and how blessed I am in my life. I won't each of you to hold me accountable for doing so. And if I forget, I am going to go and find that specific little girl and give her a ride in my car with the radio blaring and the AC on high! It will certainly change my perspective again. I just know it! Happy Thanksgiving from one blessed gal to many others! :)
Building Champions!
Love to all,
Marcy
