Scituate Music Association (SMA)
Sept 14, 2023
Hello Band and Chorus Members and Families,
The Scituate Music Association (SMA) is an organization that works to
enhance the experience of our students and staff within the music
department here at Scituate High School.
Our fundraising efforts have paid for all-state, solo and ensemble, band
polos, choral dresses, coach buses to festivals, as well as, refreshments for
our holiday concerts and annual awards night.
The biggest fundraiser of the year is just around the corner. We run the hot
weiner booth at the Scituate Art Festival. Last year we raised over
$10,000!!!
The weiner booth is run completely by volunteers and we need your help.
Students who volunteer at the hot weiner both will earn “SMA Bucks” that
can be used towards trips and festivals. Students earn 10 SMA bucks for
each hour volunteered and parents earn 5 SMA bucks. SMA bucks can
only be used as a credit towards school related music activities and
uniforms. Hours worked are also considered community service.

Flu Clinic at SHS - Oct 11th
Please see the message below from the Rhode Island Department of Health.
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Has everyone in your family had their flu vaccine?
There will be a FREE flu vaccine clinic at Scituate Middle and High School on 10/11/2023 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Students and Staff/Faculty are welcome. This clinic is not open to the public.
Here’s some important information about the FREE flu vaccine clinic:
• Register online at schoolflu.com to schedule an appointment.
Enter Login ID to register: scituate
• Online registration is required to ensure the availability of the vaccine.
• Insurance information will be collected, but the vaccine is FREE whether you have insurance or not.
The flu is a serious, highly contagious, and sometimes deadly disease. Catching the flu means missing days of work and school. You might even have to spend time in the hospital. Don’t take the risk — the flu vaccine is your best protection against the flu.
For more information, visit health.ri.gov/flu/, or call the Department of Health’s information line at 401-222-5960.
Thank you.
