From the Principal's Desk
The Houses are Coming!
The O’Dell House System features four houses — our learning and leadership communities for students. Each House has unique properties such as its own color, symbols, nation of heritage, history, and more. Over time, each House also starts to take on its own values and personality driven by the culture of the students and staff within it. Our students will be sorting on October 28th and we will push out a schedule next week so parents can attend! Check out the newsletter over the next few weeks to continue to learn more about the House System.
Our O’Dell family House Sorted this past Friday and the video below shows all the excitement!

AMPED Running Club Meets this Week
Red Ribbon Week is Next Week!
October 24-31
Red Ribbon Week is a time in which students pledge to live safe and drug-free lives. Each day has a different theme, and we encourage your child to participate. Attire for each day must meet CISD dress code.School Visitor Policy
All parents and visitors are asked to present a valid driver's license or photo identification when entering the building for parent conferences, lunch with your child, working as a classroom volunteer, etc. Identification is collected and a name tag is issued, which must be worn and visible at all times during your visit. Identification is returned when signing out of the building.
The Counselor's Corner
This month we are talking about Responsibility! The definition we are using in class is:
Responsibility: taking action and understanding the impact of our choices
Family Conversation Starters:
What are some things that might get in the way of showing Responsibility?
What are some things that might help us practice Responsibility?
When is the last time that you didn’t take your responsibilities seriously? What were the consequences? What did you have to do to fix it or make it right?
Family Challenge: Responsibility Assembly Line
Choose one household chore (or more!) that requires multiple steps. Then have each member of the family select one step to complete and collaborate to get the job done! Maybe it is washing the dishes, doing laundry, cleaning the living room, unloading the groceries - whatever it is, see who can be the fastest or most effective at their piece of the puzzle!
